Volcano Poas

Visiting one of the volcanoes with the largest crater in the world cannot go unnoticed when you visit CR, and even more so when it is super close to the airport.

Before visiting the volcano we recommend you visit the famous coffee farms and the tours they offer.  From small farms run by local owners, to the visit of the first Starbucks coffee farm in the world, where you will enjoy a beautiful view and a rich cup of coffee! This area of the Poás is very famous not only for visiting the volcano but also the land is super fertile, which makes it perfect for the cultivation of coffee, strawberries, dairy and livestock. The weather is a bit cold up here so we recommend bringing a coat!
